FS22 Nowhere Kansas v1.0
There is plenty of opportunity here, so enjoy farming in the middle of nowhere, in Kansas, USA!
Nowhere Kansas 22 is the ultimate “no man’s land” style of map, 16 standard game maps worth of space to do with as you
please. A fictional area located somewhere in the high plains area of western Kansas, along Highway US400. As there is
a BNSF railroad line that runs east-west near US400 in some spots, there is a BNSF train modelled in the map as well.
The train is not drivable, it simply simulates a real train running through the area at different times during the day.
Also, high in the sky, you may see a jetliner crossing the sky at times… on its way to a distant airport.
Unlike the FS 2019 version of this map, which was a poke at various “stereotypes”, such as “America is all flat and the
fields are HUGE” to “Flat as Kansas” to Giants’ early game versions sell points where there was only a dump grate on the
pavement into which all products were dumped… The new version of Nowhere Kansas focuses on the “build your own” concept
like many of the “no man’s land” styles of maps out these days. All the sell points and other scenery areas are designed
to be as realistic as possible… even the area highway signs and the license plates on the parked vehicles.
You have travelled to the middle of nowhere… looking to build a farming empire… you begin at the bus stop where you were
dropped off… there is an old, trashed mobile home trailer here, unfit to live in, but, you find a small, wooden shed that
will work nicely, actually, it is quite homey. It even has electricity from the rooftop solar panel and battery setup. You
are all set to begin your journey to fame and success as a farmer…
There are 4 areas on the map, the first is where you “get off the bus” and spawn in… there is an old shack you can stay
in, it has a sleep trigger you can make use of until you get on your feet. Also, here is an old, abandoned pickup truck
gifted to you so you can get around, it is a bit too far from place to place out here to try to walk everywhere. North of
that area, near the center of the map, is an old, abandoned Ford dealer where you can have your stuff delivered (use the
satellite phone to call your orders in) and there is a fuel pump there as well. Across the road, in an empty lot, is some
used farm equipment you may have (in new farmer mode) to use to get started. Around to the side, there are some toolboxes
under the shelter, use to fix your stuff. At the far east and far west of the map are areas where you can sell your stuff and buy what you may need. Most of the sell points are not staffed, you use a remote console to access your farm account and purchase
whatever you need (provided that you have the money in your account…) Other sell and buy points are manned, and have
opening and closing times, no access is permitted after they are closed and have gone home for the night. All the rest of
the map is prime farmland that you may buy and build out as you see fit. You can even build a small town if that is your
thing.
This map incorporates my anhydrous fillType so that you can purchase anhydrous and use the appropriate applicator to
fertilize your fields with it. Also, the pre-compost and compost fillTypes are built in, so you can start your own
compost empire… you can even purchase and place a facility to bag your compost to make even more money. There is also
a grain dryer production that can be bought, the dryCorn and drySoybean and propane fillTypes are also built in so you
can make use of this as well.
The map also incorporates custom lighting, custom corn textures, and soybeans in rows and has 32-angle MTA built in.
In “New Farmer” mode you start with some equipment, some money and the clothes on your back. If you start in the hard
modes, you get nothing but some money… work wisely…
All production items and game crops (with the exception of sugarcane, as it does not grow this far north) can be sold
at the 2 sell areas at either end of the map.
There is plenty of opportunity here, so enjoy farming in the middle of nowhere, in Kansas, USA!
Disclaimer: This is a highly detailed map, using many different scenery objects and several custom textures to achieve visual realism, and as such will require a strong, high spec PC to run well… especially if you have lots of mods on the farm. The only solution to this issue is to not use as many mods and/or turn the settings down. Additionally, to avoid unforseen issues and conflicts, please have ONLY this map in the mod folder as having multiple maps in the folder will cause issues as the game loads all the scripts from all the maps, including the active one…
There will be no “mod requests” or custom changes to the map for individual users.
